Gaotai is a county in Gansu Province, China, under the administration of the prefecture-level city of Zhangye. It lies in the northwest of the country, bordering Inner Mongolia to the northeast. Its postal code is 734300.
In 1999 the county had a population of 155,260 people. Gaotai is one of the administrative divisions of Zhangye, a prefecture-level city that also governs several other counties and districts in the region.
Note that the subject of this article is the county in Gansu Province. A different place named Gaotai exists in Shaanxi; the two are distinct and should not be confused.
