Shanghe is a county under the administration of Jinan, the capital of Shandong province in the People's Republic of China. It lies within the Jinan municipal area rather than being an independent city, and it is distinct from other places that share the name Shanghe.
As a county-level division of Jinan, Shanghe forms part of the administrative structure of Shandong, a province on China's eastern coast. Its governance falls under the Jinan municipal government, which oversees the county along with the rest of the capital region.
