Dongjiang is a town in Shandong Province, in eastern China. It is a separate place from the Dong River (also romanised as Dongjiang) in southern China, which is the easternmost main tributary of the Pearl River and flows through Guangdong and Jiangxi.
Shandong lies on China's eastern coast, along the lower reaches of the Yellow River. The province is one of the country's major population and agricultural centres, and its terrain includes the central Shandong highlands as well as a long coastline on the Bohai Sea and Yellow Sea.
Detailed information about this particular town is limited. It should not be confused with the better-known Dong River in the south, whose source is Mount Yajibo in Xunwu County, Jiangxi, and whose water has been exported to Hong Kong since 1960.
