Mingxing is a town in Shanxi Province, China, and serves as the seat of Taigu County. It is a township-level division and the seat of a third-order administrative division. The town lies to the southwest of Jinzhong.
Mingxing covers a total area of 22 square kilometres (8.5 sq mi) and is made up of nine administrative villages and eleven communities. Its population is approximately 60,500, of whom 43,988 are urban residents. Standard Mandarin is the language spoken by most inhabitants.
