Lushan (also known as Mount Lu) is a prominent mountain and national park located in the Jiujiang region of Jiangxi, China. The area is situated within Lushan City and the Lianxi District, positioned near the Yangtze River to the north, Nanchang to the south, and Poyang Lake to the east.
The oval-shaped mountain range spans approximately 25 kilometers in length and 10 kilometers in width. It is recognized as one of the most renowned mountains in China and features a landscape characterized by hundreds of steep peaks that frequently emerge from a "sea of clouds" for up to 200 days each year.
The highest point of the mountain is Dahanyang Peak, which reaches an elevation of 1,474 meters above sea level. Historically, the site was also referred to as Kuanglu in ancient times.
