Lipu is a county-level city in the northeast of Guangxi, China. It is under the administration of Guilin City, the downtown of which lies about 100 kilometres (62 miles) to the north.
As a county-level city, Lipu forms part of the administrative structure of Guilin, a prefecture-level city in the Guangxi region. Its position in the northeast of Guangxi places it within the broader Guilin area rather than in the region's southern or coastal zones.
The city is located roughly 100 kilometres from central Guilin, the nearest major urban centre and the seat of the administration to which it belongs.
