Mawan is a town in the east-central part of Hubei province, People's Republic of China. It has a population of about 41,000 and is under the administration of Tianmen, a sub-prefecture-level city located 19 kilometres (12 mi) to the west-northwest.
The town lies in a low-lying area near two lakes. Lake Chen (沉湖) is to its north, and Lake Hua (华湖) is also to its north.
