Gaoping is a county-level city in the southeast of Shanxi Province, China. It is administered by the prefecture-level city of Jincheng. The city lies in the southeastern part of the province, within the broader Jincheng administrative area.
Gaoping has a history stretching back to the Warring States period. Part of the present-day city was formerly known as Changping, the site of a noted battle in 260 BCE between forces from the rival states of Qin and Zhao.
