Cuiping

China

Cuiping is the core urban district of Yibin, a city in Sichuan Province in southwestern China. It sits at the confluence of the Jinsha and Min rivers, which join there to form the Yangtze. This location at the head of the Yangtze has long made the area a significant settlement and river port.

Until 1997, the area was the county-level city of Yibin. In that year Yibin was upgraded to a prefecture-level city, and the original urban core was renamed Cuiping District. It remains the central district of the modern city.
