Lianghe

China

Lianghe is a city in Heilongjiang province, in the far northeast of China. It lies within the administrative area of the province's forested northern region, near the border with Russia along the Amur River basin. The settlement is one of several small urban centres scattered across Heilongjiang's sparsely populated northern counties.

Like much of Heilongjiang, the area experiences a continental climate with long, severe winters and short, warm summers. The surrounding landscape is dominated by forest and river valleys, and the local economy has traditionally been tied to forestry, agriculture, and trade connected to the nearby border region.

Lianghe is not to be confused with Lianghe County in Dehong Prefecture, Yunnan province, in southwest China, which is a separate administrative entity in a different part of the country.
