Nanping is a city in Jilin Province, in northeastern China. It lies in the eastern part of the province, within the Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture, near the border with North Korea.
Like much of the region, Nanping is a small settlement set among hills and river valleys, with a climate characterised by cold, snowy winters and warm, humid summers. The surrounding area is largely agricultural and forested.
Nanping should not be confused with the larger and better-known prefecture-level city of the same name in Fujian Province.
