Dongjiang is a city in Jilin Province, in northeastern China. It is located in the province's south-central region, within the administrative area of Liaoyuan, and lies in the hilly terrain characteristic of that part of Jilin.
The city is a county-level administrative unit whose economy has traditionally been based on agriculture and forestry, reflecting the surrounding landscape of the Jilin region. It is not to be confused with the Dong River (Dongjiang) of southern China, a separate feature in Guangdong and Jiangxi.
