Dongguang

China

Dongguang is a county-level city in Jilin province, in northeastern China. It lies within the administrative area of the prefecture-level city of Songyuan, in the western part of the province.

The area is part of the Songnen Plain, a flat, fertile region drained by the Songhua and Nen rivers. Like much of western Jilin, the surrounding countryside is given over largely to agriculture, with grain and livestock farming among the main activities.

Dongguang is connected to the wider region by road and rail links through Songyuan, which serves as the area's principal transport and administrative hub. The city has a continental climate typical of the region, with cold, dry winters and warm, rainy summers.
