Yinhe

China

Yinhe is a city in Jiangxi Province, in southeastern China. Jiangxi lies in the interior of the country, south of the Yangtze River, and Yinhe is one of the province's smaller urban centres rather than a major metropolitan hub.

Beyond its basic status as a Jiangxi municipality, little about the city is widely documented in general reference sources. It should not be confused with the container ship Yinhe, which was the subject of a 1993 international incident in which the United States Navy prevented the vessel from docking in the Middle East over suspicions of chemical weapon materials; inspections later found no such cargo. That episode concerns a ship, not the city.

As with many smaller Chinese cities, Yinhe's identity is tied to its provincial setting and local administration within Jiangxi. Reliable, well-established details about its history, economy, and attractions are limited, and travellers seeking information should consult regional Chinese sources for specifics.
