Leping

China

Leping is a county-level city in the northeast of Jiangxi province, China. It is administered by the prefecture-level city of Jingdezhen, which lies to its east and is known nationally as a centre of porcelain production.

As a county-level city, Leping forms part of the Jingdezhen administrative area rather than governing itself as a prefecture-level unit. Its position in northeastern Jiangxi places it within the province's upland interior, a region of hills and river valleys that has historically supported agriculture and small-scale industry.

Leping is one of several county-level cities in Jiangxi, a category of administrative division that sits below the prefecture level and above the county level in China's hierarchy. Its association with Jingdezhen links it to one of the country's best-known ceramic-producing areas, though the city itself is a separate administrative entity with its own local government.
