Gaotang is a county in the People's Republic of China, located in the northwestern part of Shandong province. It is administered by Liaocheng City.
The name Gaotang is shared by more than one place in China, including a town in Jiangxi province, but the administrative unit described here is the Shandong county of that name. As a county, it forms part of the prefecture-level city of Liaocheng and lies in the province's northwestern corner.
Beyond its administrative status and location, few details are firmly established in readily available sources. The county's position within Liaocheng places it in a broader regional context of the North China Plain, though specific information about its area, population, and local features is not covered here.
