Chating is a town in Wangcheng District of Changsha, Hunan Province, China. It lies in the northeast of the district and covers an area of 135 square kilometres, with a population of about 54,000. The town is made up of 11 villages and two residential communities, and its administrative centre is at Meihualing.
Chating is bordered by the Zhangshu and Jinlong towns of Xiangyin County to the north, Gaojiafang town of Miluo City to the east, Qiaoyi town to the south, and the Dingziwan and Tongguan Subdistricts to the west.
