Baota is a district of Yan'an in Shaanxi Province, China, and serves as the administrative center of that city, hosting its government offices. It covers an area of 3,537.6 square kilometres and had a permanent population of 497,085 as of 2019.
The district forms Yan'an's urban core and is highly urbanized, with more than 80 percent of its residents living in urban areas. Its economy is derived mainly from the tertiary sector, alongside activities such as agriculture, animal husbandry, and petroleum extraction.
