Meishan is a prefecture-level city in China. Although the subject line places it in Zhejiang, the reference material identifies Meishan (眉山) as a city of Sichuan province, located in the southwest of the Sichuan Basin. It was formerly known as Meizhou (眉州) or Qingzhou (青州).
At the 2020 census, Meishan had 2,955,219 inhabitants. Of these, 1,232,648 lived in the built-up, or metropolitan, area formed by the city's two urban districts, Dongpo and Pengshan.
