Lianyun is a district of Lianyungang, a city in Jiangsu province on China's eastern coast. It is one of three urban districts that make up Lianyungang, alongside Haizhou and the port area.
Situated at the northern end of Jiangsu near the border with Shandong, Lianyungang is a coastal city facing the Yellow Sea. Lianyun forms part of the urban core of this port city, which serves as a major maritime gateway for the region.
As a district rather than an independent city, Lianyun functions as an administrative division within Lianyungang's municipal structure. Its coastal location ties it to the broader economic and transport role of Lianyungang, which is known for its harbour and its position on the eastern terminus of the Longhai railway linking the coast to central and western China.
