Taohuatan

China

Taohuatan is a town in Xuancheng, a prefecture-level city in Anhui Province, People's Republic of China. Its name is rendered in Chinese as 桃花潭镇 and translates literally as "Pool of Peach Blossoms."

The town is located in the southern part of Anhui Province, within the administrative area of Xuancheng. It is one of the towns through which Xuancheng's territory is organised at the township level.

Beyond its administrative status and the meaning of its name, Taohuatan is chiefly known for the peach blossom pool that gives it its name, a scenic spot associated with the town. The name is shared with the well-known poem by Li Bai, which has made the place name familiar in Chinese literary culture.
