Eséka is a small town in the Centre Region of Cameroon. It is located in the southern part of the country's central territory, within the Nyong-et-Kellé division, and lies along the Nyong River. The town serves as a local administrative and commercial centre for the surrounding area.
Eséka is best known for its railway station on the line connecting the capital Yaoundé with the port city of Douala, one of the country's principal transport corridors. The town is also the site of a major railway accident that occurred in 2016, when a passenger train derailed near Eséka, killing and injuring many people.
Beyond these facts, Eséka remains a modest settlement whose economy and daily life are tied to the railway and to the agricultural activity of the surrounding Centre Region.
