Lodja is a remote town located in Sankuru province in central Democratic Republic of the Congo. The town serves as a regional hub for two significant economic activities: rice production within the province and diamond mining operations across the country.
The town is accessible via Lodja Airport, situated approximately 7 kilometres (4.3 miles) from the town center. Lodja has historically been home to the Tetela people, an ethnic group with a long-standing presence in the area.
