Toritama

Toritama is a municipality located in the state of Pernambuco, Brazil, within the mesoregion of Agreste Pernambucano. Situated at an altitude of 349 meters, the city lies approximately 153 kilometers west of the state capital, Recife.

The municipality covers an area of 25.7 square kilometers and had an estimated population of 46,164 in 2020. Excluding the island of Fernando de Noronha, Toritama is the smallest municipality in the state of Pernambuco.

The region is primarily recognized for its industrial activity in the textile sector. It is specifically noted for the production and sale of textiles, with a particular prominence in the manufacturing of jeans.
