Correia Pinto

Brazil

Correia Pinto is a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina, in the South region of Brazil. It was created in 1982, when it was separated from the existing municipality of Lages.

The city is located in the highlands of Santa Catarina, a region historically associated with cattle raising and forestry. Its economy has traditionally been linked to agriculture and the timber industry, reflecting the broader economic patterns of the surrounding plateau area.

As a relatively young municipality, Correia Pinto has developed its own local administration and services since the early 1980s. It remains one of the many small to medium-sized municipalities that make up the interior of Santa Catarina.
