Sao Jeronimo

Brazil

São Jerônimo is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. It is one of the many municipalities that make up this state, which is the southernmost of Brazil's 26 states and is bordered by Argentina and Uruguay.

Like other municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul, São Jerônimo functions as a local administrative unit with its own municipal government. The state of Rio Grande do Sul is known for its distinct cultural heritage, shaped by Portuguese, German, Italian, and other European immigrant influences, as well as its gaúcho traditions tied to cattle ranching on the southern grasslands.

São Jerônimo should not be confused with other places bearing the same name, including the well-known São Jerônimo da Serra in the state of Paraná. The municipality in Rio Grande do Sul is a separate entity located in Brazil's southern region.
