Guapore

Brazil

Guaporé is a Brazilian municipality situated in the state of Rio Grande do Sul. The city's name originates from the Guaraní language; while its exact meaning is subject to some debate, it is most commonly interpreted as "Desert Valley."

The region was primarily settled by Italian immigrants during the 19th century, and the community continues to preserve many of these cultural traditions today. Economically, the municipality is notable for its jewelry and lingerie industries, where it serves as the largest producer in the state of Rio Grande do Sul and ranks second in the entire country.
