Giruá is a municipality in the northern part of the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It covers an area of 855.92 square kilometres and had a population of 15,863.
The city lies 474 kilometres west of Porto Alegre, the state capital, and is situated northeast of Alegrete. It borders the municipalities of Santa Rosa and Santo Ângelo.
