Balneario Pinhal

Brazil

Balneário Pinhal is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. It is located on the state's Atlantic coast, part of the stretch of seaside towns often referred to as the Costa Doce or the northern littoral of Rio Grande do Sul.

Like other municipalities along this coast, it is a small coastal community whose name reflects its beach resort character, with "balneário" commonly used in Brazil for a bathing or seaside resort area. The surrounding region is characterised by flat coastal terrain, dunes, and lagoons typical of the Rio Grande do Sul shoreline.

Detailed historical, demographic, and economic information about the municipality is limited in readily available sources, and it is distinct from other places in Brazil that share the "Pinhal" name.
