Augusto Pestana is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. It lies at approximately 28°31′01″S 53°39′01″W, at an altitude of 390 metres.
The city is situated about 320 kilometres northwest of Porto Alegre, the state capital, and roughly 1,540 kilometres southwest of Brasília, the national capital. It sits just 120 kilometres east of the border with Argentina.
