Ipanema is a neighborhood situated in the South Zone of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. It is geographically positioned between the neighboring districts of Leblon and Arpoador, while also bordering Copacabana and Lagoa.
The area is well known for its beach, which gained international recognition following the popularity of the bossa nova song "The Girl from Ipanema." The track was composed by Antônio Carlos Jobim and Vinícius de Moraes.
