Cantagalo, formerly spelled Cantagallo, is a city in the east-central area of Rio de Janeiro State, Brazil. It covers an area of 749 square kilometres and lies at an elevation of 391 metres (1,283 feet).
The city has a population of 20,168. It should not be confused with the Cantagalo neighbourhood and favela of the same name in the city of Rio de Janeiro, or with other places bearing the name.
