Sozopol is an ancient seaside town situated in the Burgas region of Bulgaria. Located on the southern Bulgarian Black Sea Coast, it sits approximately 35 kilometers south of the city of Burgas.
The town serves as the administrative center of the Sozopol Municipality and is recognized as one of the major seaside resorts in the country. As of December 2009, the local population was recorded at 5,410 inhabitants.
Sozopol is notable for hosting the Apollonia art and film festival. The festival takes its name from one of the town's ancient historical names.
