Jumet is a town in Wallonia, the French-speaking southern region of Belgium. It is a district of the municipality of Charleroi, located in the province of Hainaut.
As a district, Jumet forms part of the greater Charleroi conurbation rather than an independent municipality. Charleroi, the largest city in Hainaut and the centre of the surrounding industrial region, administers Jumet along with its other districts.
Its position within the Charleroi municipality places it in the Sambre and Meuse valley area of Wallonia, a part of Belgium historically associated with coal mining and heavy industry.
