Jambes

Belgium

Jambes is a sub-municipality of the city of Namur, located in the province of Namur in the Wallonia region of Belgium. It lies within the municipality of Namur, which serves as the capital of both the province of Namur and the Walloon region.

Until 1977, Jambes was a separate municipality in its own right. On 1 January 1977, it was merged into Namur as part of a nationwide wave of municipal reorganisations in Belgium, and it has since formed one of Namur's constituent sub-municipalities.

Its position within Namur places it in the Wallonia region, the predominantly French-speaking southern half of Belgium, in the province named after the city to which it now belongs.
