Harelbeke is a municipality and city in the Belgian province of West Flanders, in the Flanders region. The municipality comprises the city of Harelbeke proper along with the towns of Bavikhove and Hulste.
It covers a total area of 29.14 km². On 1 January 2019, Harelbeke had a total population of 28,447, giving a population density of 898 inhabitants per km².
Inhabitants refer to their hometown as a "Weireldstad" (metropolis), a usage that also gave rise to a monthly "Harelbekedag" among students from Harelbeke studying in Ghent.
