Rockingham is a suburb located in Western Australia, situated approximately 47 kilometers south-south-west of the Perth city centre. It serves as the primary center for the City of Rockingham.
The area features a beachside location at Mangles Bay, which marks the southern extremity of Cockburn Sound. The geography surrounding the suburb includes maritime and resource-industry installations in Kwinana and Henderson to the north, while the Shoalwater Islands Marine Park lies to the west and south.
Located offshore to the north-west is Garden Island, which houses Australia's largest naval fleet and submarine base. This site is connected to the mainland via an all-weather causeway.
