Alice Springs is a town located in the Northern Territory of Australia. It serves as the third-largest settlement in the territory, following only Darwin and Palmerston.
The town is situated approximately in the geographic center of Australia, positioned nearly equidistant from the cities of Adelaide and Darwin. The name Alice Springs was bestowed by surveyor William Whitfield Mills in honor of Alice, Lady Todd, who was the wife of telegraph pioneer Charles Todd.
