Höchst is a municipality in the district of Bregenz, in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It lies in Austria's westernmost region, in the Alpine Rhine valley near Lake Constance (Bodensee).
The municipality is one of several communities in the Bregenz district, the administrative area that surrounds the city of Bregenz, Vorarlberg's capital. Höchst sits close to the point where the Rhine forms the border between Austria and Switzerland, placing it in a cross-border corner of the country.
