Bildstein is a municipality in the district of Bregenz, in the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. It lies in Austria's westernmost region, within the Bregenz district, whose administrative centre is the city of Bregenz on Lake Constance.
The community is one of the smaller municipalities of the Vorarlberg Rhine valley area, situated on the slopes above the Rhine plain rather than in the valley floor itself. Like other places in the Bregenz district, it forms part of a densely settled region between Lake Constance and the Alpine foothills.
