Obernberg am Brenner is a municipality in the district of Innsbruck-Land, in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It lies in the southern part of that district, in the Alpine terrain of the Tyrol region.
The settlement is associated with the Brenner area, the Alpine corridor that links the Austrian Tyrol with South Tyrol in Italy. Its position in the southern Innsbruck-Land district places it within the wider Brenner route corridor rather than in the Tyrolean lowlands.
As a municipality, Obernberg am Brenner is one of the local administrative units of the Innsbruck-Land district. It should not be confused with other places bearing the name Obernberg.
