Mutters is a municipality in the Innsbruck-Land district of the Austrian state of Tyrol. It lies roughly 4.7 kilometres (about 3 miles) south of Innsbruck, the regional capital.
The area has a long history of settlement, dating back approximately 3,000 years, although the village itself was first mentioned in written records in 1100. It remained a small settlement in the Stubaital valley area south of Innsbruck for centuries.
Mutters was connected to Innsbruck in 1904 with the arrival of the Stubaitalbahn, a railway line that linked the village to the city and improved access to the surrounding valley. The municipality remains part of the Innsbruck-Land district today.
