Höfen is a municipality in the district of Reutte, in the Austrian state of Tyrol. It lies in the Außerfern, the part of Tyrol that sits in the far northwest of Austria, close to the border with Germany.
The village is one of the smaller communities of the Reutte district, a largely Alpine area of the Lechtal Alps and the Tannheim Mountains. Its setting is typical of the region: a scattered settlement surrounded by mountain terrain, with the local economy and daily life shaped by its position in a high valley.
Höfen is administratively grouped with the other municipalities of the Reutte district, which is the only district of Tyrol that lies entirely north of the main Alpine ridge. Detailed records of its history, population and landmarks are limited, and the community is best known simply as one of the small villages making up this remote corner of western Austria.
