Stadl an der Mur is a former municipality in the district of Murau, in the Austrian state of Styria. It lies in the Mur valley, from which the second part of its name derives.
Under the 2015 Styria municipal structural reform, Stadl an der Mur ceased to be an independent municipality and was merged into the new municipality of Stadl-Predlitz, of which it now forms a part. Its administrative functions were accordingly transferred to the merged authority.
The settlement is located in the mountainous Upper Styria region around Murau, an area characterised by Alpine terrain and the upper course of the Mur river. As a former municipality, it retains its identity as a locality within Stadl-Predlitz rather than as a separate administrative unit.
