Soboth

Austria

Soboth is a village in the Austrian state of Styria, in the Deutschlandsberg District. Until January 2015 it was a municipality in its own right; at the start of that year it was merged into Eibiswald, and it has since formed part of that municipality rather than existing as a separate administrative unit.

It lies in the far south of Styria, close to the border with Slovenia, in hilly country near the Soboth reservoir and the Soboth Pass. The area is known for its mountain landscape and the artificial lake created for a hydroelectric power station, a body of water that has become a local landmark.
