Schöder is a municipality in the district of Murau, in the Austrian state of Styria. It lies in the mountainous region of Upper Styria in southern Austria, within a district whose administrative centre is the town of Murau.
The area is characterised by an alpine landscape of hills, forests and meadows typical of the Styrian highlands. Like other municipalities in the Murau district, it is a small, rural community rather than an urban centre.
