Salla is a former municipality in the district of Voitsberg, in the Austrian state of Styria. It lies in the western part of Styria, within the Voitsberg district, an area of the country known for its Alpine foothills and proximity to the Koralpe range.
Since the 2015 Styria municipal structural reform, Salla has been part of the municipality of Maria Lankowitz rather than an independent municipality. The reform was a province-wide reorganization that merged numerous small Styrian municipalities into larger administrative units.
As a result of that merger, Salla no longer functions as a separate administrative entity; it is now a constituent part of Maria Lankowitz, which carries out municipal governance for the area.
