Langenwang

Austria

Langenwang is a small town in the Austrian state of Styria. It lies in the district of Bruck-Mürzzuschlag, in the Mürz valley of eastern Styria, roughly midway between the towns of Mürzzuschlag and Krieglach.

The town is set in an alpine landscape at the foot of the Fischbach Alps, close to the Semmering Pass area. Its position along the Mürz river and the historic railway line through the valley has long tied it to the transport route connecting Vienna with the Styrian capital, Graz.

Langenwang is a municipality of modest size and serves mainly as a residential and local service centre for the surrounding valley communities. The wider region is known for its mountain scenery, hiking routes and winter sports, with the Semmering and Rax-Schneeberg areas within reach.
