Johnsbach

Austria

Johnsbach is a former municipality in the Austrian state of Styria. It is located in the district of Liezen, in the mountainous central part of the country.

Since the 2015 Styria municipal structural reform, Johnsbach is no longer an independent municipality and has been part of the municipality of Admont. The reform merged numerous small Styrian municipalities into larger administrative units.

The village lies in the Johnsbach valley within the Gesäuse, a section of the Enns river known for its steep limestone peaks, and it is home to the Bergsteigerfriedhof, a cemetery where many climbers who died in the surrounding mountains are buried.
