Hartl is a municipality in the district of Hartberg-Fürstenfeld, in the Austrian state of Styria. It lies in the eastern part of Styria, within the Hartberg-Fürstenfeld administrative district established in 2013.
As a municipality, Hartl is one of the smaller administrative units typical of the rural communities that make up much of this part of Styria. The surrounding district is predominantly agricultural and hilly, forming part of the eastern Styrian hill country toward the border with Burgenland.
